St Barbara Says Court Hearings for Papua New Guinea Mining Lease Renewal Set for April

Mining company St Barbara (ASX:SBM) said the Warden Court hearings for the renewal of the Simberi mining lease will take place from April 8 to 9 on Simberi Island, Papua New Guinea, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The hearings are the next step in the renewal process, following the Mineral Resources Authority of PNG's acceptance and registration of Simberi's application for early renewal, the filing said.

The Mining Advisory Council will make a final recommendation to the Minister for Mining after the hearings, per the filing.

Shares rose 2% in morning trade Thursday.
