Saia posted lower fourth-quarter profit despite an increase in revenue.
The freight shipping company logged net income of $76.1 million, or $2.84 a share, compared to $89.2 million, or $3.33 a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected polled by FactSet expected $2.78 a share.
Revenue rose to around $789 million from $751.1 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $781.7 million.
Saia said less-than-truckload shipments per workday increased 4.5% in the quarter, while less-than-truckload revenue per shipment excluding fuel surcharge revenue increased 1.3%.
