Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) bought back 1,642,963 shares in the UK on last Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, three filings corresponding to the repurchase dates with the bourse said.
The British lender bought 548,082 shares on Tuesday at a weighted average price of 10.58 pounds sterling apiece, 556,441 shares on Wednesday at a weighted average price of 10.71 pounds sterling apiece, and 538,440 shares on Thursday at a weighted average price of 10.81 pounds sterling apiece.
Following the latest repurchase and cancellation on Thursday, the British lender will still have 2,414,227,503 shares in issue.
So far, it has bought back 137,562,542 shares for cancellation under its buy-back program at volume-weighted average price of 8.44 pounds sterling apiece, spending a total of about $1.5 billion.
