Korea Electric Power (KRX:015760) may report an operating profit of 8.86 trillion won for 2024, rebounding from a 4.57 trillion won loss in 2023, Yonhap News reported Sunday, citing its financial data firm Yonhap Infomax.
Driven by recent rate hikes, the state-run company is also expected to log a fourth-quarter operating profit of 2.9 trillion won. If confirmed, this will mark the firm' s first annual profit in four years, the report said.
Shares of Korea Electric Power fell nearly 2% at market close on Monday.
