BlackRock (BLK) is planning to open an office in Kuwait, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing unnamed sources having knowledge of the matter.
The asset manager is in talks with regulators and could make a final decision as soon as in February, the report added, citing the people.
BlackRock Chief Executive Larry Fink met with Kuwait's ruler Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace on Monday, the country's Kuwait News Agency reported.
BlackRock did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Shares of the company were down 2.8% in recent Monday premarket activity.
