These concepts normalize and trivialize allegations of serious misconduct.”“Most importantly, media statements are not a defense to Ms. Lively’s legal claims,”“We will continue to prosecute her claims in federal court, where the rule of law determines who prevails, not hyperbole and threats.”All of that is true Baldoni but has the right to protect his public reputation, just as Lively dose. A court case can take a long time, but the PR war can be won or lost in a day. Schuster died in 1992 and his co-creator, Jerry Siegel, died in 1996. “By operation of law, Shuster’s foreign copyrights automatically reverted to his estate in 2017 in most of these territories (and in 2021 in Canada),”“Yet Defendants continue to exploit Superman across these jurisdictions without the Shuster Estate’s authorization—including in motion pictures, television series, and merchandise—in direct contravention of these countries’ copyright laws, which require the consent of all joint copyright owners to do so.”I always get angry when the estates of famous people try to cash in by suing people – we’ve seen it many times in the music industry, and it always just feels like a cash grab.But this one is different, especially when you consider creators Jerome Siegel and Shuster assigned worldwide Superman rights to DC’s predecessor in 1938 for a mere $130. They did so in a desperate big to get the first cartoon published.Despite creating a billion dollar brand, the co-creators “ended up with a lifetime of legal bills, borderline poverty and soul-eating bitterness”, according to The Guardian.So, on this occasion I hope they get a big payout. MAFS isn’t about finding true love or making people look good, it’s there to entertain – at any cost.And while we’re on MAFS, serious questions need to be asked about the pairing of Katie Johnstone with Tim Gromie.This was a lady who was fearing rejection and they put her with a man who fulfilled her worst fears. From the very start it was obvious this lady was struggling with self-esteem issues and producers should have been more careful when picking her groom.And, let me tell you, after all the psychological tests the brides and grooms go through, producers must have known how Tim would react to his new bride.
