1140 ET - Tariffs should drive upside in wood product pricing when excluding certain factors, with PotlatchDeltic and Weyerhaeuser being the clearest beneficiaries, say D.A. Davidson's Kurt Yinger and Aditya Madan in a research note. The analysts say that the implementation of 25% tariffs on most goods from Canada will add volatility to North American wood product makers as the country is an important source for the U.S. market. "Notwithstanding consumption/demand impacts, we see tariffs driving upside in wood product pricing, lumber standing out in particular," the analysts say. PotlatchDeltic rises 2%, while Weyerhaeuser ticks up 1.6%. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
