HCW Biologics (HCWB) shares more than doubled amid heavy trading after the company said Monday that it received US Food and Drug Administration clearance to launch a phase 1 trial to evaluate HCW9302 for treating moderate-to-severe alopecia areata.

Over 313.9 million shares traded intraday versus a daily average of roughly 9.9 million.

GH Research (GHRS) said Monday that a phase 2b clinical trial of GH001 for patients with treatment-resistant depression met its primary endpoint.

Shares surged 82% as intraday trading volume catapulted to over 8.4 million from a daily average of about 79,000.

Triumph Group (TGI) said Monday that it agreed to be acquired and taken private by the affiliates of Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners in a roughly $3 billion all-cash deal.

Shares of the aerospace supplier jumped 34%, with intraday trading volume rising to over 14.4 million compared with a daily average of about 699,000.
