Noble to Retire 2 Cold Stacked Drill Ships

Noble (NE) said Monday that it plans to divest the cold stacked drill ships Pacific Meltem and Pacific Scirocco.

The decision was made to eliminate costs and prioritize resources on the company's existing marketed fleet, based on a cost-benefit evaluation of idle capacity.

The company said it will divest these non-contributing assets in a way that will retire them permanently from drilling operations, including potentially scrapping the units.
