Vertical Aerospace (EVTL) said Tuesday it completed phase 2 of piloted thrustborne testing of its VX4 prototype of a four-passenger electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, paving the way for piloted wingborne testing.
The company said the prototype flights didn't suffer any system failures and surpassed expectations for stability and performance.
After wingborne testing, the VX4 will enter a final phase of transition testing to show its ability to switch between vertical and forward flight modes, Vertical Aerospace said.
