SiriusXM (SIRI) shares were trading about 1.1% higher Tuesday morning after a new regulatory filing showed Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B) acquired slightly more than 2.3 million of the satellite broadcaster's shares following a series of open-market transactions beginning Jan. 30 and continuing through the close of Monday's session.
The stock purchases, made through various Berkshire Hathaway entities, including its GEICO and other property and casualty insurance units along with the company's pension fund, were made at between $22.24 to $24.23 per share and totaled nearly $54 million, the Form 4 filing and MT Newswires calculations show.
