Food delivery services using drones are increasingly being used in China, especially during the Lunar New Year, tech news site TechNode reported Friday.

Drone services are operated from mall rooftops for food deliveries, especially in areas where riders are not able to access, the report said.

Meanwhile, Meituan's (HKG:3690) drones have started 53 routes in China's big cities, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, Technode reported Friday.

The food delivery platform completed 400,000 orders during the month, the report said.
