1744 ET - Oil and gas resources in Canada and Mexico could help President Trump achieve his ambitions to build a powerful American energy industry, TC Energy CEO Francois Poirier reckons. He cautions tariffs, if applied to energy exports from America's closest neighbors, would raise costs for producers and for consumers. "I think everyone would like to see continued free trade of energy across the borders between Canada, U.S. and Mexico, because of the firm belief that collectively--what I would call fortress North America--we can help the U.S. achieve its goals of global energy dominance while at the same time having Canada and Mexico prosper," Poirier tells The Wall Street Journal.
