Accident investigators have recovered black boxes from both the American Airlines jet and the military helicopter involved in Wednesday's crash at Reagan National Airport, according to National Transportation Safety Board member Todd Inman.

The NTSB has high confidence that investigators will be able to recover information from the military helicopter's single box, which retains cockpit voice and flight data, Inman said. The jet's cockpit voice recorder has sustained some water intrusion, but that's not unusual and the NTSB has taken steps to remove any moisture ahead of retrieving data, he said.
