Two of three runways were still closed at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, causing some delays and canceled flights, according to Terry Liercke, the airport's manager. The two runways were closed because they are close to the search site, he said, adding that about 100 flights were canceled Friday.

Many of those scrapped flights were on American Airlines, which counts the airport as a hub. Early-morning journeys canceled included ones from Charleston, Rochester and Cleveland. The airport said on social media earlier in the day that it is open and operating normally, but encouraged passengers to check with airlines for delays and cancellations.
