波音(BA.N)周四表示，预计印度和南亚航空公司将在未来20年内向其机队新增2,835架商业飞机，约为当前水平的四倍，这一增长源于中产阶级的崛起和健康的经济增长促进了旅行需求。
波音去年发布的上一份滚动20年预测为2,705架喷气式飞机。
“人们将更容易接触到航空旅行，且该地区的航空公司将需要一支现代化、燃油高效的机队，以应对未来20年的需求增长，”波音印度及南亚商业营销总经理Ashwin Naidu表示。
波音预计，这两个地区的航空公司将交付2,445架单通道飞机，约占交付总量的九成，而宽体机队规模将翻四倍，新增370架飞机。
波音还预计，该地区的航空交通将持续增长，年均增幅超过7%，直到2043年。
印度是全球第三大国内航空市场，仅次于美国和中国，也是增长最快的市场，IndiGo和Air India是该国两大航空公司。
根据总部位于英国Cirium Ascend的数据，印度航空公司目前已有约1,800架飞机订单，并计划在今年交付130架飞机。
但全球航空公司面临着采购飞机延迟的问题，因为供应链问题导致波音和空客的生产受限。两家飞机制造商的订单簿也已经排满，生产线满负荷。
由于罢工等因素，波音的交付量在2024年下降至自新冠疫情以来的最低水平，但该公司上个月表示，正在加快飞机生产进度。与此同时，空客也未能完全达到其2024年的交付目标。
波音还补充道，未来20年，飞行员、机舱乘务员和技术人员的需求将翻四倍，达到129,000人。
