UPDATE 1-Jazwares recalls 'America's Got Talent' microphones because of fire hazard

Adds paragraphs 2-5

Feb 6 (Reuters) - Jazwares, a toy company owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway BRKa.N, recalled about 125,000 "America's Got Talent" microphones because they contain lithium-ion batteries that can overcharge and ignite, posing a fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday.

The microphones were sold for about $20 to $25 between October 2020 and October 2022 at retailers including Amazon.com, DD's Discounts and Ross Stores, Meijer, Target and Berkshire-owned Nebraska Furniture Mart. Six were sold in Canada.

Jazwares has received three reports of batteries igniting, causing smoke and fire damage to walls and floors, the CPSC said. No injuries have been reported. The microphones' SKU numbers are AGT0002 and TMS0002.

Consumers should stop using the microphones and dispose of them, but not in the ordinary trash, and contact Jazwares for full refunds in the form of pre-paid gift cards, the CPSC said.

Jazwares is also known for its Squishmallows plush toys. They are not part of the recall.
