Pen names Breslin UK and Ireland commercial division MD

By Michael Jones

Feb 5 - (The Insurer) - Pen Underwriting has combined its UK and Ireland commercial underwriting teams under the leadership of Sarah Breslin.

Breslin will serve as managing director of the newly combined UK and Ireland commercial division.

Pen said the change followed its geographic expansion into Ireland in 2024 through the acquisition of Wrightway Underwriting.

Breslin has spent four years at Pen, including as its CFO.

She previously spent 12 years at Gallagher following stints at Baring Asset Management, Deutsche Bank and PwC.

Pen said all product and regional leads within the UK and Ireland commercial division remain unchanged.

The Gallagher-owned MGA will now have four trading divisions: commercial – UK and Ireland; SME and personal lines; international; and public sector.

In its announcement, Pen also confirmed that UK financial lines and specialty liability managing director Richard Webb had decided to retire from the industry.

The MGA said he would leave later this year.
