2024年在华日本人时隔19年跌破10万人
据日经中文网，居住在中国的日侨人数正在减少。日本外务省的数据显示，2024年居住在中国的日侨时隔19年跌破10万人。在各国和地区的日侨人数中，中国也已经下降到第3名，次于美国和澳大利亚。由于中国的工资上涨，日本企业持续缩减驻点，企业驻外人员不带家人的情况增多。
日本外务省最近发布的《海外在留邦人数调查统计》数据显示，截至2024年10月1日，滞留中国3个月以上的日侨人数为9万7538人，同比减少4%，连续12年减少。与创下最高纪录的2012年相比，减少了35%。2000年代前半期，居住在中国的日侨人数量急剧增加。2001年中国加入世界贸易组织（WTO），凭借廉价且丰富的劳动力提高了“世界工厂”的存在感，日本企业纷纷设立生产基地。到2003年，居住在中国的日侨人数在各国和地区中超越巴西，成为第二，仅次于美国。
