Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI is set to receive a $40 billion primary investment from SoftBank at a $260 billion pre-money valuation, CNBC's David Faber reported Friday, citing sources.
The new funding would make SoftBank the AI startup's top backer, surpassing Microsoft, according to the report.
OpenAI and SoftBank did not immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
