日前，福特汽车公司表示计划在2027年重返国际汽联世界耐力锦标赛原型跑车顶级赛事，重现福特60年前叱咤赛场的荣光与辉煌。届时，福特性能车团队（Ford Performance）将携全阵容原厂车队参赛，并将在FIA WEC最严苛的勒芒24小时耐力赛中展开激烈角逐。

时间倒退60年，早在1966至1969年间，福特曾于法国勒芒的耐力赛上实现总冠军四连冠。之后福特以各级别胜利为重心，2016年福特GT于GTLM夺魁，最近在福特Mustang GT3赛场捷报频传。

福特汽车公司执行主席Bill Ford表示福特已经做好了准备再次迎战所有对手：“福特正在迈入性能车和赛车赛事的全新时代。福特在公路和越野赛场上的表现也充分体现了这一点。我们参赛，我们就要赢！纵观福特赛车史，勒芒的意义无可匹敌。60年代的勒芒，福特与法拉利比拼并取得胜利。50年后，福特重返勒芒，再次击败法拉利，震惊世界。现在，令人激动的是，我们即将重返勒芒竞逐最高级别的耐力赛事，与对手一决胜负！”

FIA WEC首席执行官Frédéric Lequien表示：“数十年来，无论赛场内外，福特性能车和赛车的表现均有口皆碑。很高兴福特选择以国际汽联世界耐力锦标赛为最新挑战。如今，承诺参加2027年FIA WEC顶级赛事的已经不下十个顶尖汽车品牌。”
