Principal Financial Q4 Non-GAAP Operating Earnings Rise, Boosts Quarterly Dividend, Authorizes New Stock Buybacks

Principal Financial (PFC) late Thursday reported Q4 non-GAAP operating earnings of $1.94 per diluted share compared with $1.83 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet, on average, expected $1.93.

The financial service firm Thursday night said it was increasing its quarterly dividend by $0.02 to $0.75 per share, payable March 28 to shareholders of record on March 12.

The company also authorized a new $1.5 billion stock buyback program, replacing its prior plan that had about $800 million remaining for share repurchases. Analysts are looking for $8.37.
