Brookside Energy (ASX:BRK) started operations to drill the Bruins Well in the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma, US, the company said in a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The initiative is the first of three planned wells in the company's 2025 drilling program, and the well is expected to spud before the end of February, added the filing.

Previous operations in the area as of Dec. 31, 2024, have collectively achieved cumulative production of 2.5 million barrels of oil equivalent, per the filing.

The company said it expects to significantly increase its working interest in the Bruins Well to about 70%, subject to the finalization of regulatory filings and processes.

The company has also signed a drilling contract with Kenai Drilling, with drilling set to start before the end of February, added the filing.
