BHP has appointed former National Australia Bank chief executive Ross McEwan as its next chairman, less than a year after he left the financial services industry and joined the board of the world’s biggest miner.
Mr McEwan vowed on Wednesday to focus on “generating long-term value” for shareholders when he succeeds incumbent Ken MacKenzie on March 31.
