Victoria’s value capture claims a hurdle to further SRL money: King

Infrastructure Minister Catherine King says a hurdle to Victoria’s request for an additional $9.3 billion for its controversial Suburban Rail Loop is the state government’s claim one-third of the megaproject can be financed through value capture.

Ms King on Wednesday said she had approved the release of federal Labor’s $2.2 billion pledge to the first phase of the rail loop, known as SRL East, after receiving advice from the independent assessor Infrastructure Australia and approving the project against the Land Transport Act.
