Century Aluminum, Cleveland-Cliffs Lead Pre-Bell Rise in Steel, Aluminum Stocks

Century Aluminum (CENX) and Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF) shares led a pre-bell rise in aluminum and steel stocks Tuesday a day after US President Donald Trump announced new 25% tariffs on metal imports.

Shares of Century Aluminum were up 3.5% in premarket activity, while Cleveland-Cliffs rose 3%.

Commercial Metals (CMC) advanced 2%, Nucor (NUE) was up 1.5%, U.S. Steel (X) edged up 1% ahead of Alcoa (AA), which was up almost 1%.

Shares of ArcelorMittal (MT), based in Luxembourg, were down nearly 2%.
