智通财经APP获悉，谷歌(GOOGL.US)首席执行官桑达尔·皮查伊表示，“实用”的量子计算机将在5到10年内实现，并将这一突破性技术与大约十年前的人工智能发展相提并论。
皮查伊在迪拜举行的世界政府峰会上表示：“量子计算的现状让我想起了2010年代的人工智能，当时我们正在开发谷歌大脑并取得初步进展。”
在美国和中国的引领下，各国政府和企业已承诺投入数十亿美元用于量子计算研究，以追求这一未来技术。量子计算机能显著提高数据处理的速度和容量，使模拟复杂系统、更准确地预测不同场景的结果以及破解当前加密系统成为可能。
然而，该技术目前仍主要用于研究领域，关于其何时能真正成熟仍存在争议。今年1月，英伟达(NVDA.US)首席执行官黄仁勋表示，“非常实用”的量子计算机可能还需要几十年时间才能问世，这一言论导致量子计算相关股票大幅下跌。
皮查伊还提到了谷歌最近在量子芯片方面的一项突破，该突破使研究人员能够在5分钟内完成现有超级计算机需要“比宇宙年龄还长”的时间才能解决的问题。
“量子计算的进展确实令人兴奋，”他表示。
