NXP Semiconductors to Buy Kinara in All-Cash Deal Valued at $307 Million

NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI) said Monday it has agreed to buy Kinara, a developer of neural processing units, in an all-cash deal valued at $307 million.

The company said Kinara's processors are designed for artificial intelligence tasks at the edge, including generative AI, and are used in industrial and automotive applications.

The acquisition, slated to close in H1, will add Kinara's AI hardware and software to NXP's product lineup, which includes processors, connectivity, and security products, NXP said.
