MW McDonald's adjusted earnings fall short as average ticket spend drops
McDonald's Corp.'s fourth-quarter adjusted earnings fell short of analyst estimates as the fast-good giant reported lower average spending per ticket.
McDonald's $(MCD)$ said its fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.83 a share missed the FactSet consensus estimate of $2.85 a share.
McDonald's stock rose 1.2% in premarket trading.
U.S. comparable store sales fell 0.4%, which reflected a drop in average check, the company said. This was partly offset by slightly positive comparable guest counts.
