智通财经APP获悉，据报道，Elliott Management已披露持有英国石油(BP.US)近5%的股份，价值约38亿英镑(约合47.5亿美元)，成为该公司第三大股东。
报道称，这位激进投资者正试图推动这家陷入困境的公司削减可再生能源支出并进行大规模资产剥离。
目前，仅有贝莱德和先锋集团持有比Elliott更多的英国石油股份，分别占9%和5%。
上周末，Elliott入股的消息首次传出。周二，英国石油首席执行官Murray Auchincloss在发布又一份令人失望的季度财报时，承诺将对英国石油的战略进行"根本性重置"。
据报道，英国石油将于2月26日的资本市场日公布其战略规划，但目前尚不清楚这些计划是否能满足Elliott的要求。Elliott希望看到一位积极进取的董事长，在董事会的支持下推动公司战略的重置。
