Australian equities are poised to open higher on Friday, tracking Wall Street, which gained on Thursday after the release of the latest US inflation data.
US inflation increased more than expected in January, boosted by rising egg and energy prices.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 1.5%, the S&P 500 closed gained 1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.8% higher.
In corporate news, AMP (ASX:AMP) reported Friday that its earnings per diluted share in 2024 fell to AU$0.056 from AU$0.091 per diluted share a year earlier.
Cochlear (ASX:COH) reported Friday that its six-month earnings per diluted share rose to AU$3.125 from AUa$2.913 per diluted share a year earlier.
Australia's benchmark index edged up 0.1% Thursday to close at 8,540.
