2月13日，雪佛龙宣布将裁员15%~20%，旨在削减成本、简化业务流程，并完成重要的收购项目。

该计划预计将于2025年启动，大部分裁员工作将在2026年底前完成。对此，雪佛龙表示，希望到明年年底将成本降低20亿~30亿美元。

根据雪佛龙最近的年度文件显示，截至2023年12月21日，雪佛龙的员工总数为45600人；如果现阶段员工人数与之相似，意味着裁员20%则将有9000余人面临失业。

“雪佛龙正在采取行动简化组织结构，更快、更有效地执行，并使公司具有更强的长期竞争力，”雪佛龙副董事长马克·纳尔逊在一份声明中说。“我们不会轻易采取这些行动，并将支持我们的员工度过过渡期。”

据悉，由于炼油利润率下降，雪佛龙未能达到华尔街第四季度的盈利预期，其燃料业务亏损2.48亿美元，而去年利润为11.5亿美元。此外，雪佛龙即将以530亿美元收购赫斯公司，但与竞争对手埃克森美孚陷入仲裁纠纷，交易是否会达成带来了不确定性。

目前，雪佛龙正在将公司总部从加利福尼亚州圣拉蒙迁至休斯顿。
