　　截至2023年底，雪佛龙在全球拥有46，500名员工，这意味着裁员可能影响多达9，000名员工。该公司的目标是到2026年削减20亿至30亿美元的“结构性”成本以提高效率。

　　“雪佛龙正在采取行动简化我们的组织结构，更快、更有效地执行，并使公司具备更强的长期竞争力，”副主席Mark Nelson周三发布公告称。

　　“我们并非轻率地采取这些行动，并将在过渡期间为员工提供支持，”他说，“但负责任的领导意味着需要采取这些措施，以提高我们公司的长期竞争力，造福我们的员工、股东和社区。”
