Major digital assets were higher late afternoon Wednesday with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) advancing above the $97,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 124 digital assets, was up 2.3% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 was edging 0.1% higher in late trading, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average eased 0.4% and 0.7%, respectively.
Bitcoin jumped 1.9% to $97,010, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume surged 35.9% to $47.99 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, rose 3% to $2,674.
XRP (XRP-USD) gained 1.6%, BNB (BNB-USD) soared 11.8%, while Solana (SOL-USD) dipped 1%.
Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) added 4.2%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) climbed 2%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.635% at 3 p.m. ET Wednesday, up from 4.535% Tuesday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.48% from 4.37%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry increased 2.4% in the past 24 hours to $3.2 trillion, with the overall trading volume rising 22.7% to $124.23 billion.
