1258 GMT - European airlines are likely to benefit from a Ukraine-Russia ceasefire, if the deal leads to the reopening of Russian airspace to overflights for European carriers, JP Morgan analyst Harry Gowers says. A ceasefire could also cause downward pressure on jet fuel prices, improved air traffic control, and tighter European capacity, he writes in a research note. However, it would initially put pressure on air freight rates, harming logistics companies, he says. The outcomes for Wizz Air and Lufthansa would range from neutral to very positive, Gowers adds.
