Republic Services Takes Tariff Threats In Stride -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
15 Feb

1252 ET - Republic Services doesn't expect its operations to get hit by the economic implications of Trump tariff threats, at least for now. While the waste management company is mindful of the macro environment, CEO Jon Vander Ark says on a call with analysts, what happens with tariffs and the impact on inflation doesn't keep him up at night, he says. "We've lived through a pandemic and high inflation and war at the shore of Europe and other elements," Vander Ark says. Regarding Trump's approach to green energy, Republic says it didn't include the Department of Energy's compressed natural gas tax credits in its guidance for 2025. Shares rise 2.75 to $230.50.
