Boeing Receives Order for 17 Chinook Helicopters From Japan Self-Defense Forces

Boeing (BA) said Thursday that Japan's military force has ordered 17 CH-47 Block II Chinooks extended range helicopters to replace some of its CH-47 JA aircraft.

The aircraft will be co-produced by Boeing and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, the company said, adding they have delivered more than 100 Chinooks to the Japan Self-Defense Forces since the 1980s.

BA shares were 0.1% higher in recent trading.
