TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of Indonesian National Police (Polri) is investigating a report from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) regarding the seawall in the waters of Bekasi.
Investigators have found 93 forged Land Ownership Certificates (SHM) that allowed for the construction of seawall in Bekasi waters.
The Director of the General Crime Directorate of Bareskrim, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, stated that the issuance of 93 fake SHM occurred in the Segarajaya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi, West Java.
The suspected perpetrators altered the data of the SHM, which was previously located on land, to be located in the sea.
"The suspected perpetrators altered the data of the subject or the name of the rights holder and location. The quantity is larger than the actual area," said Djuhandhani to the media at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday, February 14, 2025.
Bareskrim has issued an order for an investigation into the falsification of the seawall ownership certificates in the waters of Bekasi. Investigators have examined the former chairperson and members of the adjudication committee for the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) in relation to the issuance of the 93 SHMs in Segarajaya Village.
"Investigators have also questioned officials from the Bekasi Regency Land Office and employees of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of ATR/BPN," Djuhandhani said.
Djuhandhani mentioned that investigators would soon convene a hearing to determine whether this case will proceed to the next stage of investigation or not.
However, he stated that the hearing would be held after all the data and investigative materials regarding the falsification of the SHM in the seawall in Bekasi are completed.
The seawall in the waters of Bekasi was built along a 3.3-kilometer stretch near Paljaya Village, Segarajaya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi. The dismantling of the Bekasi seawall commenced on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, supervised by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
