Westgold Resources (ASX:WGX) extended gold mineralization from an ongoing resource development drilling program at the company's Beta Hunt mine at Kambalda, Western Australia, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Drilling at the Fletcher zone at the project yielded up to 41 meters at about 8 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold and 19 meters at roughly 6 g/t gold, the filing said.

The company expects to start drilling at the Mason zone at the project and deliver a mineral resource estimate for the Fletcher zone by the fourth quarter of the fiscal year.

Company shares rose nearly 1% in recent Tuesday trade.
