0855 GMT - Hong Kong shares ended flat, with the Hang Seng Index little changed at 22616.23. The Hang Seng Tech Index shed 0.5% lower to 5499.26. Investors digested reports of Chinese President Xi Jinping's meeting with a number of tech leaders, including Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma. Among major stocks, Baidu fell 6.9% and Alibaba declined 1.5%, while Tencent gained 4.0% after it announced that its messaging app Weixin launched beta testing with DeepSeek. Other gainers included China Unicom, which was 7.65% higher, and SMIC, which added 4.3%. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)
