Investors will get new clues about the health of the consumer and housing market with earnings and economic data this week.

Here's the economic and corporate news to watch:

Today

-- Earnings: Baidu, Medtronic, Occidental Petroleum, Toll Brothers, Arista Networks

-- Fed speaker: Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr is slated to speak in New York on AI in the economy.

Tomorrow

-- Earnings: Analog Devices, Carvana, Etsy

-- Data: Housing-starts data for January are due at 8:30 a.m. ET.

-- The Fed releases minutes at 2 p.m. of its January policy-setting meeting, at which the central bank held rates steady.

-- Fed speaker: Vice Chair Philip Jefferson is due to speak at 5 p.m. on household balance sheets.

Thursday

-- Earnings: A big day for corporate results, headlined by Walmart. The retailer's stock has been on a tear of late as the company hones its e-commerce strategy.

-- Alibaba, Wayfair, Hasbro, Block and Rivian are also reporting.

-- Fed speakers: Michael Barr is scheduled to discuss supervision and regulation at 2:30 p.m., in what could be his last public comments before he gives up his supervisory role at the end of the month.

-- Fed governor Adriana Kugler is also slated to speak: about inflation, at 5 p.m.

Friday

-- Data: Existing home-sales data for January are due at 10 a.m.

Saturday

-- Reports: Berkshire Hathaway is expected to release its annual report, with a shareholder letter from Chairman and Chief Executive Warren Buffett, around 8 a.m.
