Xiaomi (HKG:1810) will enter the home appliance market this month by launching its first central air conditioner (AC), The Standard reported citing William Lu Weibing, president of the company.
The tech giant will position the AC against Japanese Daikin, which is currently the market leader in the niche, the report said, citing a Weibo post by Lu.
Lu said the product will tackle the problem of poor heating performance by central ACs in the winter and set a new standard for energy efficiency, smart features, and ecosystem connectivity, according to the report.
