HP (HPQ) said late Tuesday it has agreed to acquire Humane's artificial intelligence platform Cosmos, along with relevant staff and roughly 300 patents, in a $116 million transaction expected to close by the end of February.
The company said the acquisition will help it develop AI-powered devices and expand AI integration across its product range, including PCs, printers, and collaboration tools.
Humane's staff will join HP and form a new AI-focused lab, HP IQ, aimed at advancing workplace technology, the company added.
