The U.K competition watchdog launched an investigation into French aerospace-industry supplier Safran's proposed purchase of a part of Collins Aerospace's actuation and flight control business.
The Competition and Markets Authority said Tuesday that it was considering whether the merger, if carried into effect, would result in a lessening of competition within any market in the U.K. for goods or services.
The regulator set a deadline of April 16 for its phase 1 decision.
Safran couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
