Starzen Co. (TYO:8043) will lease a new logistics center in Kawasaki City, with operations set to start in May 2026, as part of efforts to improve efficiency and cut costs, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The 39,130-square-meter Starzen Higashi Ogishima Center will increase the company's storage capacity 2.5 times and integrate food distribution and processing functions.
The facility, leased from Daiwa Corporation, will help reduce CO2 emissions and support Starzen's earnings transformation plan.
The 30-year lease exceeds 30% of the firm's consolidated net assets, but the exact amount remains confidential.
