Singapore Shares Edge Higher Amid Possible Position Adjustments -- Market Talk

0114 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index edges 0.1% higher to 3930.10, paring opening gains amid possible position adjustments by investors. "While headlines on U.S./Russia/Ukraine peace talks have been a central focus, it seems the noise in markets has been temporarily dialed down a notch," says Chris Weston, head of Research at Pepperstone, in a commentary. Among the best performers on the benchmark index, Genting Singapore rises 2.0%, Sembcorp Industries adds 1.1%, and Jardine Matheson Holdings is up 0.8%. Meanwhile, Wilmar International falls 0.9%, Mapletree Logistics Trust loses 0.8%, and Singapore Exchange is down 0.7%. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
