Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) said down-hole televiewer data relating to broad zones of high-grade gold mineralization at its Christmas Creek gold project in Western Australia boosted the discovery potential of the project, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The surveying was successful in determining the orientation of the mineralized veins in a drill hole at the Martin prospect at the project, and the orientation indicates the presence of a series of stacked high-grade gold veins, according to Chief Executive Derek Marshall.

The company is planning to conduct follow-up drilling at the prospect and is concurrently assessing additional target areas at the project, per the filing.

The firm's shares rose nearly 13% in recent trading on Wednesday.
