Archer Aviation (ACHR) said Tuesday it received Federal Aviation Administration certification to launch its pilot training academy.

The certification, called Part 141, means the academy is officially recognized and regulated by the FAA for pilot training. With this approval, Archer can now train pilots for its planned air taxi services using its Midnight aircraft, the company said.

This certification is the third of four required by the FAA for Archer to start air taxi operations once Midnight gets its Type Certification, the company said, adding that it is now working on its Part 142 certification.

Shares of Archer Aviation rose past 10% in recent trading.
