Zhou Zhiping, former general manager of Dongfeng Motor (HKG:0489), was appointed as director and general manager of China South Industries Group (CSGC), the parent of Chongqing Changan Automobile (SHE:000625), Yicai Global reported Tuesday.
Zhou succeeded Zhang Yujin, who was named general manager of Aero Engine Corp. of China, Yicai said, citing a statement from CSGC.
While neither company has confirmed a partnership, industry rumors suggest a strategic restructuring between Dongfeng and Changan at the group level, the report said.
