Magellan Financial (ASX:MFG) reported Thursday that its earnings per diluted share in the fiscal first half fell to AU$0.52 from AU$0.57 per diluted share a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Visible Alpha were expecting EPS of AU$0.41.
On an adjusted basis, EPS was AU$0.47, down from AU$0.52 a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected an operating EPS of AU$0.39.
Total revenue and other income for the six months ended Dec. 31, 2024, was AU$178.6 million, up from AU$169.3 million in the same period a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected total revenue of AU$166 million.
The board declared an interim dividend of AU$0.264 per share, down from the AU$0.294 in the previous reported period, payable on March 12 to shareholders on record as of Feb. 26.
The company's shares fell past 3% in recent Thursday trade.
